Frequently Asked Questions

  • We'll spend 15 minutes discussing your situation, answering your questions about career assessment, and explaining our process. There's no pressure to commit, just helpful information to help you make the right decision.

  • The Strong Interest Inventory® takes 30-45 minutes to complete. The coaching meeting is usually 60-90 minutes and is scheduled about 2 weeks after completion of the assessment and profiles. Most clients have a clear action plan within 2-3 weeks of starting the process. The client determines the pace of our engagement.

  • Yes! We offer virtual sessions for clients anywhere in the United States. The Strong Interest Inventory® can be completed online, and all sessions can be conducted via secure video conferencing.

General

  • The Strong Interest Inventory® is designed for ages 14+. The typical high school student will benefit most from this assessment and conversation sometime after completing their sophomore year. However, you know your student best, and they may be ready sooner if they are motivated, forward-thinking, or are looking for guidance on high school courses. High school seniors and college freshmen and sophomores can also benefit from this assessment to confirm they are heading in the right direction with their chosen major. 

  • School counselors are wonderful, but often overwhelmed with helping 100’s of students. We provide personalized, one-on-one career assessment and planning with certified practitioners who specialize in helping students explore majors and careers to find their post-high-school path.

  • Every client comes away with multiple options that could be a good fit for them. Career interests can evolve, but understanding your natural patterns helps you make better decisions throughout your career. The self-knowledge gained is valuable regardless of specific career choices.

  • Yes! We have worked with many homeschool students in finding their direction after high school. We have experience with homeschool ourselves and understand the unique questions that arise during post high school planning.

  • We recommend all types of colleges including public, private religious, and private secular. We aim to help you find a school that meets your needs and values.

  • We help students find a path that fits them and provide resources to help them reach that goal whether it is college, apprenticeships, or moving directly into the work world.

  • Career planning isn't taught in school, and figuring it out alone may take years of trial and error. Professional assessment and guidance can save you time, money, and frustration while providing clarity you can't achieve on your own.
